Fukagawa Hachiman Matsuri is the festival at Tomioka Hachimangu in Koto-ku. In 2014, the festival will be held on August 16 (Sat) and 17 (Sun). 54 Mikoshis go around the area and on Sunday, 2014 is the year of Hon-Matsuri (big Matsuri), once in 3 years.
At this festival, people are soaked by throwing water by spectators and even from a fire hose. It is said that this festival is one of the three big festivals from Edo era, as well as Kanda Matsuri and Sanno Matsuri.
