shop#198 Hinode Senbei

Hinode Senbei started its business in 1913, which means they have more than 100-year-history. Senbei is a rice cracker. They use 100% Japanese fine rice from Niigata, Gunma, Ibaraki or Chiba, and bake one by one carefully by hand. 



Located on the corner of Shin-Nakamise Street and Rokku Broadway Street.

shop#196 Kappa Village Ippinten

There is a shop selling colorful steamed meat buns (Kappa Nikuman) on Orange Street in Asakusa, just in front of the Asakusa Public Hall. At this place, you can join a guided bike tour called Tokyo Culture Cycling Tour. The tour is in English or Japanese. I am sure it is a perfect activity on a fine autumn day.

One day tour 10,000 yen
Half day tour 5,000 yen
includes bike and helmet.

You may go to Akihabara, Ueno, Tsukiji or Ryogoku at your request.

This is a speciality store for sesame-seed oil since 1935. You can buy a bottle of fine sesame oil, sesame seeds, sesame dressing and a jar of honey-sesame paste for bread.

Kappabashi Dougu Matsuri (Kappabashi Tool Festival) 2015

Kappabashi Dougu Matsuri will be held from October 6 thru 12 this year.

The price of kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes will be much more reasonable than usual. On October 11, the chopstick user contest will be held. On October 12, first 1000 people can eat SANMA (saury) at the Kinryu Park. The ticket will be provided in front of Shogai Gakushu Center (Lifelong Study Center) on Kappabashi Tool Street from 10:45 am on October 12.








Kappabashi Tool Street is located 10 mins walk from Asakusa.

CHICKEN STAND (closed on September 13, 2015)

Chicken Stand is located next to Asakusa Mokubatei (a public theater) on Okuyama Omairi Street, where you can eat fried chickens with various dip sauces. Chicken cream croquette is also popular.

CHAKURA

A standing cafe of Matcha sweets is opened recently on the Denboin Street in Asakusa. Shaved ice is made by naturally frozen ice from Yamanashi prefecture and Matcha syrup is originally made in this cafe.

LISZT is a sweets shop on the Denboin Street in Asakusa. Orange peel chocolate is very popular, but they also sell doughnuts, caramels and green tee leaves.

This cafe is convenient for tourists. You can use free wi-fi and free 2 prong outlet. Halal foods and vegetarian foods are available. You can also buy a haral instant ramen. They have not a private pray room, but they can provide a space on a 2nd floor temporarily to pray.

Here is a shop for yakisoba to go. The thick noodles are made by a noodle factory, Kaikaro Asakusa.



Located just in front of the ROX building along Kokusai Dori.
